He has been awarded Bronze award by National Clinical Excellence Awards committee in 2021 a public acknowledgement of his professional expertise and sustained and dedicated contribution to the NHS over and above his contractual requirements.

His current portfolio includes 17 projects including three NIHR trials. He is the Chief Investigator of the NIHR Health Technology Assessment facet joint study for back pain that has been commissioned by the NIHR to formulate interventional strategy in non-specific back pain management.

Dr Mehta has been appointed as an examiner for Fellowship of Pain Medicine (FFPMRCA) by the Court of Examiners of Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPM) and Royal College of Anaesthesia (RCOA).

He has been elected as a council member of NSUKI (Neuromodulation Society of UK and Ireland) in 2016 and re-elected for second term in 2019. He has been involved in supporting and drafting commissioning policies for neuromodulation by NHS England, particularly for headache services. He is an eminent speaker and has several invited lectures including IASP Yokohama 2016 and further topical workshops in 2014, 2015 and 2016 at British Pain Society annual scientific meetings, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 NSUKI annual meetings.

He has lectured over 100 clinical and academic meetings and has published extensively in the field of pain. His work on functional and restorative neurostimulation has been recognised by the international neuromodulation society and received one of the top 5 researches in World Congress for year 2017. He was an invited speaker at North American Neuromodulation Society 2017,2018, and 2019.

She completed her FRCA (Fellowship of Royal College of Anaesthetics 2006) and FFPMRCA (Fellowship in Pain medicine 2016) from UK.

She is PhD in neuromodulation and currently the Deputy Director of Pain Research Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital London. She is co-director for Education Program in Neuromodulation (EEPIN), with international faculty collaboration from Europe, India, Australia and US and the program director for the first Post Graduate Certificate Course (PGCC) in neuromodulation with QMUL affiliation.

She has special expertise in managing patients with back pain, persistent spinal pain syndrome, headaches, sciatica, pelvic pain, complex regional pian syndrome and fibromyalgia as part of multi-modal pain management offering bespoke solutions to these complex problems. Besides neuromodulation, she has expertise in performing complex interventions like facet joint medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablations, nerve root injections, epidurals and chemical sympathectomies.

For leisure, she enjoys swimming, cycling, and piano besides fine wines.

During this time, he held additional roles: visiting Professorship at City University London, Clinical Director of Anaesthetics, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, and senior management roles in clinical research as Clinical Director of the Joint Hospital and Medical School Clinical Research Centre and Deputy Director of Research and Development. He was Regional Advisor and Head of the Barts and The London School of Anaesthesia, and founder of the Barts Medical Simulation Centre.

He was Chief Medical Officer at St Pancras Clinical Research from 2016-20. He has led the Pain Service at The London Clinic from 2014 to present.

He was President of the British Pain Society from 2010-13, during which time he also served as a member of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists Board, and European Pain Federation (EFIC) Council Member.

Throughout, his research has mainly focused on acute and chronic pain medicine. He has held multiple European Commission and NIHR grants and has over two hundred publications, including BMJ, NEJM, Arthritis and Rheumatism, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Anesthesiology, Anaesthesia and European Journal of Anaesthesia. He is a British Journal of Pain Board member, and previously was Deputy Editor of the International Journal of Acute Pain.

Mr. Rawat’s extensive international experience in the medical device industry includes building relationships world-wide with physicians, regulatory bodies and vendors for therapy research, new product development and manufacturing, and navigating the clinical and regulatory requirements in the USA, Europe and Australia. As Chief Operating Officer of Mainstay Medical Limited, a first-of-a-kind implantable restorative neurostimulation for chronic low back pain, he led the project from a single provisional patent to global regulatory approval and commercial launch. While Technology Fellow and Manager of the Advanced Technology Group at Boston Scientific’s Cardiac Rhythm Management group, he was responsible for development of the world’s first implantable long-range telemetry system. Since then, he worked as an advisor to CVRx, a private neurostimulation company developing an implantable device for treatment of high blood pressure, and was VP R&D and Operations at CSF Therapeutics, a venture capital-backed spinoff from the Cleveland Clinic developing a novel invasive therapy to improve blood flow in stroke victims.

Mr. Rawat has a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics Engineering and Telecommunications from the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Gujarat, India, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics from Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, U.S. He is the inventor on over 80 patents and patent applications.
